HOf diesel loco Field railway Gmeinder 15/18

Model: Gauge H0f. Feldbahn diesel locomotive Gmeinder 15/18. As with the original, the locomotive models are available as variants with an open and closed driver’s cab. The small locomotives are powered by a 3 volt micro-precision motor with gear reduction for prototypical slow travel and strong pulling power. A built-in magnet increases the contact pressure of the locomotive on the metal-lined narrow-gauge tracks, thereby ensuring safe current absorption from the rails and smooth, slow travel. The locomotives have a coupling pin on the back of the driver’s cab for realistic train formation as well as a magnetic coupling for operation with wagons and wagons from the Busch mine railway range. As in the original, the light railway locomotive can operate on the smallest track radii (up to 100 mm). Due to its compact design and small space requirement, it can also be used very well for diorama design and addition to existing model railway systems.

Prototype: The field railway locomotive corresponds to a type that was manufactured in this construction principle from the mid-twenties by the Baden company Gmeinder. The locomotive was produced in large numbers until the 1950s and is still partly in use today due to its robustness. The prototype of the field railway locomotive is designated „Gmeinder 15/18“ according to its horsepower (15 HP continuous output/18 HP short-term output) and is powered by a diesel engine with a three-speed gearbox and chain drive with a maximum speed of 12 km/h. The track width is 600 mm.
