Model: HO gauge. After the dreary war years, people in the 1950s loved the radiance of the colorful car paint. DKW delivered many of its high-speed trucks in a sky-blue design. From 1955 to 1962 the Transporter was built as Type 3 with a three-cylinder engine with 896 cubic centimeters and 32 hp. The DKW Schnelllaster 3 = 6 was initially created as a panel van and thus created a bridge to the years of reconstruction after the war. The DKW Transporter was seen as a manoeuvrable vehicle for the first transport tasks in local delivery and distribution traffic. The prototype was also referred to as 3 = 6 because, according to the bold advertising lines of the Auto Union at the time, its engine ensured „three power impulses per crankshaft revolution, just like the six-cylinder four-stroke engine“. The contemporary van has early roots in the Wiking range, after all, the distinctive express truck was already available as an unglazed Wiking model from 1953 to 1960.
